Retouching Negatives

The photography jumping bean

Looking at the sun coming through the blinds, so tempted to go to the park..but gotta go tomorrow to see the tax man.

Back in the day most portraits needed retouching. They actually had to work on the negatives and figure what it needed to be corrected.
Negatives were very small n very powerful magnifying glasses were needed and a very bright light to bring out the detail.. talk about working in miniatures .. It took lots of training and a steady hand.
It took expensive cameras and dedication to be good at it.
Teeth, complexions ... those senior pictures if you only knew :)

Having the stuff gave photographers an importance but now those cameras are so advance, anyone with little effort can take good photos and they take so many photos become less important.
I suppose senior pics cost a chunk, but most of you could have a pal take your photos.. free ?
Well you could click away for hours at no cost.. if you forget you have spent hundreds of dollars for the cameras in your pockets :)

Digital retouching does a pretty good job.. Kooky is snoozing so I get to be in this pic.. you can see the changes.

When you graduate there will be lots of people getting decent pics but others will not.
I don't know any young people now but when I got to take some senior photos, I took a bunch of all the grads and posted them in a blog and hundreds of people copied em :)

Here is a plan to capture lots of senior pics and share em

One of my biggest bo-boos happened when I did a pic of a girl's mom and dad and had it enlarged into a 16x20.
I never noticed till the print came back and saw a mosquito having lunch.. had to pay to have it air brushed out
